Go Green Okaloosa . com The Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce Green Awareness Taskforce will serve as the focal point for providing Green Advocacy and Awareness to the Fort Walton Beach Community, to help Fort Walton Beach and Okaloosa County become designated as Green Communities, and serve as a central repository for information regarding government, private initiatives and programs regarding the conservation and preservation of natural resources.

Pensacola event for Children

Where Does Your Garbage Go?

Date:  Saturday, September 18, 2010
Time:  10:00AM
Location:  Natural Food Co-op in Pensacola (Everman on Garden Street)

For kids ages 5 to 14 years old. Ever wonder where your garbage goes after you put it in the can? How about recycling? From a slide show presentation in the community room, we will discover how we dispose of garbage, and how we protect the environment while doing so. We also look how recycling is separated and baled. At the end of this presentation, we will have a recycling relay race. Free for members; $2 for non-members.
