Pepsi Refresh Project: Do Good for the Gulf

Program Summary

Pepsi recognizes that the oil spill in the Gulf will have not only an environmental impact but an economic and cultural impact as well, affecting communities throughout the Gulf region. Pepsi and its employees stand in solidarity with the residents of the Gulf and the Pepsi Refresh Project is pleased to announce it is doubling its commitment for one month to invest an additional $1.3 million to fund ideas that refresh individuals and communities in the Gulf states.

Key Facts

What It Is

The Pepsi Refresh Project is doubling its commitment for one month to invest an additional $1.3 million to fund ideas that refresh individuals and communities in the Gulf states.

This investment is an extension of the Pepsi Refresh Project, a year-long program that will award away more than $20 million in the U.S. to fund good ideas, big and small, that move communities forward.

How It Works

The Pepsi Refresh Project: Do Good for the Gulf will be implemented in a similar way to how the Pepsi Refresh Project operates each month, but on a slightly adjusted timeline.

Americans are invited to submit their ideas beginning July 12; Pepsi will accept up to 1,000 ideas over a five day period intended to refresh communities in the Gulf region.

You decide which ideas will get funded. During the month of August, choose your favorite ideas at www.refresheverything.com and the ideas with the most votes will receive funding.

The Rationale

In the wake of the oil spill in the Gulf, we talked to some of our partners who helped us shape the program from its inception and they agreed unanimously that this was the right evolution of the program at this time.

At Pepsi, we believe great ideas can come from anyone, anywhere, anytime; through the Pepsi Refresh Project, we've funded 127 of these great ideas to move communities forward; now we're investing $1.3 million to support more ideas that will help refresh communities in the Gulf states.
